It’s day four. We have already covered most common issues. Let’s take our learning another level up on Day 4.

  1. White or Blank Screen
    WordPress version above 5.2 notify admin about this error. But you may need to enable it in wp-config.php
    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true);
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    As the problem may be due to Theme, Plugin. You may try to solve the problem by deactivating all plugins and re-activating one by one.
    If the blank screen appears only in long posts you may add the following codes in wp-config.php to solve the error.

  2. Invisible Text and Missing Buttons
    Sometime it may happen you are typing but nothing appears. The text seems invisible. But the hidden truth is, the text color is white and the editor color is white too. That’s why you cannot see your texts.
    To solve the issue just try to Clear browser cache. If you are using any additional text editor like TinyMCE then you may try to re-install the plugin.
    Another trick is editing your wp-config.
    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);

  3. Cannot Log in to Admin
    If you are stuck and cannot receive a password reset email. The only way is to fix it by changing the admin password through Cpanel and phpMyAdmin.
    I’ve had a blog post about it.
    The tricks:

  4. Add media button disabled
    A quick fix is editing your wp-config.php file and add the following codes.

    But if the problem occurs due to any plugin or theme you may need to find out that. One way to finding out the culprit plugin is by deactivating all the plugins and re-activating them one by one.
    You can also switch to WordPress default themes like Twenty Seventeen or others if you think the problem is due to any theme.

    HTTP status codes 5XX means the error is from the server-side. Try reloading the site, if it was due to excessive user, it will solve the problem. Hard Refresh your browser-tab by pressing ctrl+shift+r
    Try disabling your firewall.
    You should also check .htaccess if it is misconfigured or not.
